I just picked up the 6275i and have been impressed with the features and style. I also picked up standard 1gb micro SD card to take advantage of all the features of this fine phone.
Well, the SD card appeared to work (I could find a folder called "Unformatted" if I dug deep enough), but when I went to transfer files via Bluetooth, it stopped at the 22 meg (internal) memory limit. No change when I used the phone to format the card.
On top of this, the documetation says I should see a "Memory Card" option in the "Phone" menu, but this does not show. Upon calling Nokia, they say you need to us a "Nokia" micro SD card only! The kicker appears to be they only sell 256 meg cards in North America (no 1gb yet!).
Has anyone found a micro SD card that will work correctly with this phone? (or am I doing something wrong here?)...thanks for your help... Great phone, but I really need some memory that works!

I would say: you're doing something wrong.
First of all: when you send stuff directly to the phone via bluetooth it will always be save in the internal memory (message inbox).
Use PC Suite, it will allow you to choose, where to save stuff (you can browse the phone like you're used to with Windows).
And according to the manual:
| Quote: | | To manage the content of your microSD card, select Menu > Extras > Memory card > Options |
But I looked up the 6275i sold in Asia because I couldn't find it on the US website.
Normally you don't need to format the memory card, the come already formated. But it is adviced to do it anyway, folders which the phones uses for some stuff will be created automatically by doing this.

Thanks for the quick reply!
(I hope you are right that I am doing something wrong! that will save me some money!).
What I found (when I had the 1gig micro SD card) when I went to Menu > Extras > there was no option for "Memory Card" showing up, which led me to belive the phone was not recognizing the micro SD card correctly.
Good info on the bluetooth transfer, I did not know that.
As I am a mac user, can I just get the USB cable and manage the files on the phone (as Nokia's PC suite is PC only)?
Thanks!

Well, the phone offers a data storage mode, the phone would behave like a card reader when activated. But I've got no idea if it will work with a Mac.
The option "Memory card" should always be shown, even without a memory card.
Maybe it's in another place in the US model (but as I said: haven't seen it on the Nokia USA website).
But I just got it... you're Canadian... checked the manual from the canadian website, it also stated that the option should be at that spot.
I've got no further idea, maybe it's a hardwarefault or something...
Have you tested the microSD with a card reader?

Hi Bjoern,
Thanks for your help so far.
Yep, Canadian here (located in southern Ontario). No sign of any option called "Memory Card" on the phone (with the Micro SD in or out). The card works fine with a reader.
I'll go back to Bell (the Canadian provider) and see if they can answer any questions about their newest phone!

Hi,
I have the 6275i, too, and am looking to buy an SD card. I didn't see it myself but I was at the Bell Store in BCE Place (TO) and they had 1GB Nokia cards. Have you had any better luck with your non-Nokia card, Dave?

gwy8: I wrote everything I know, the rest is a mystery to me too.
vjepson: non-Nokia cards will do fine too. But there is a slight chance you get one that won't work with the phone.

Thanks Bjoern. BTW, I visited Germany for the first time this past October and loved it. We were in Berlin, Dresden, Fussen, Wiesbaden, all over. What a great country!

Well, I know this is a old thread, but I just got a 6275i a couple days ago, and bought a 1GB Kingston microSD card, and it works. Until I put the card in, I didn't see a option for a SD card, but after I put it in, it shows up as NO NAME, and I haven't figured out a way to rename it yet. Not a big deal though, the space is still there!
