I'm a 'newbie' so not sure if this is the forum that I need.
We will be going to the LGC2000 and the CG225 next week. Does anyone know if the Nokia 1261 SIM card will be compatible with these phones. Does the 1261 even have a SIM card. I am really confused at this point so any help will be appreciated.

the 1261 does not have a sim card. what was the concern? your contacts? are you a cingular customer?

Yes I am and they said that we would change the SIM card over to the LG phone, but they couldn't say how it would be done. That's when I began looking for answers and how I ended up here.
I sure do appreciate your help.

basically you'll activate the LG and the nokia will stop service at that time. if you have contacts stored in you nokia phonebook, you'll need to enter them into the LG manually.
the person who told you you'll swap the sim probably just assumed that you had a GSM phone (sim card phone) as there are not too many TDMA phones (non sim card phones) around anymore.
you can activate the phone online at cingular.com/activate or call customer care to do it for you.
alos, keep an eye on your invoices. you'll get 2 prorated invoices. in the month that you make the switch. some people get confused by these.

Thanks so much to both of you for your help. Have never owned a LG before so hope that I won't be disappointed.
I'll pay special attention to the invoices. And although I have many contacts now, it will give me a chance to downsize having to do it manually.
Who knows I may be back asking about the LG, being totally confused.
Thanks again to both of you.
