I recently purchased a Samsung E105 partly because, though not a cameraphone, it can receive MMS messages containing pictures. The salesperson led me to believe that it would be a simple task to send a small photo of my daughter from my home PC to my phone to use as a background. Well, silly me, I have found out that this is not so easy. So I was wondering, after the laughter stops, can anyone share with me how I might go about completing this not-so-simple task?
Thanks in Advance.

I assume that you have the data cable and the correct software?

Well the good news is that I was able to email a small photo to the Samsung E105 without any special software or cabling. The not so good news is that I was only able to do it by replying to a picture message sent from the phone beforehand. In other words, I could NOT initiate an exchange from a PC based email client (i.e. outlook, yahoo, msn, att) and expect it to arrive in a format that would allow the phone to accept the attached photo. However, by replying to an message originally sent from the photo I was able to attach a photo that was accepted and that I was able to save and use as wallpaper in the phone - which was the entire goal of the experiment. I have no idea why this works, maybe one of you tech guys can explain it to me. I would like to understand things better. Thanks All

It is 10,000 times easier with that e105 to get a USB IrDa adapter and use it to send pics to the phone with the free EasyGPRS software by samsung. I do it all the time. Only problem for me is a cant get the pics i send to the phone to attach to messages i want to send to other phones.. But for wallpaper purposes it works fine... Also that software is really easy to resize stuff, it just has to be in gif or jpg

Cool, I'll have to try the adapter route, and I was wondering, do you use that method for doing really useful stuff like updating the PIM applets in the phone? Can it be done using the adapter and the easyGPRS software? Keeping a phone book up to date is really a pain when you have to type it all into a cell phone.

Editva, in your October 21 post you mentioned that you used the FREE EasyGPRS software by samsung. Where can I get a copy? They told me I had to buy a datakit for $80. All I'm looking to do is transfer a picture from my pc to the phone to use as wallpaper, so free is a very good price for me. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the reply - I was able to download the EasyGPRS software but now I think I need a cable to upload images. I tried using the Infrared port and I can receive mail that way, but no pictures. Darn....

Mozart - Where did you find the software? When I try the link referenced above the only download for the e105 is the user manual. I would really like to find the easyGPRS for this phone. All help is greatly appreciated.
