When i went into the cingular store the other week, i was looking at the blackberry 7130c and a cingular smart phone. He talked about the pros and cons of each phone. One big thing he said, (which i based my decision on) was if i were to go with the blackberry we would set it up with cingulars smart phone unlimited connect for 19.99. I thought great! I got the phone a few days later and came back to the store and talked to a different guy. He said the only plan that would work with the blackberry is blackberry service plans. The unlimited blackberry service is 34.99. I was pretty upset to hear this considering i got the phone expecting to use the 19.99 service. Was the first guy i talked to just messing with me to get the more expensive phone, or was the 2nd guy not telling the truth, trying to get me to buy the more expensive plan?
Basicly can i trick cingular into giving me the 19.99 plan over the blackberry one? I bought the phone over ebay, so they dont know that i have it.

blackberrys can only have a blackberry plan as the 2nd rep said. the 19.99 plan is for a few windows mobile smartphones.

in our systems we won't provision it on your account. It's not really a choice we have. for expample, if someone wants the cheaper plan even if it gives limited features, we still can't add it. it would have to activated with a blackberry plan. sorry the rep didn't know what he was talking about.
my suggestion would be to go back to the store and speak with the same rep you spoke with earlier to see if he can do anything about the plan, and even if he can't, he needs to realize he was wrong and 'fess up.
