I recently migrated my service from ATT wireless to Cingular wireless. I have a new V3 that I was using on the att system. The rep said I couldn't use it on the cingular system unless unlocked. I was using an old phone until I could get the razr unlocked. I took the RAZR to a local store that "unlocks" them. When I returned to pick up the phone the clerk told me there was a software problem and the phone went into "safe mode". The keypad will light up but the display doesn't work. When I plug the cable into my computer windows recognizes the phone but only in flash mode? Can anyone help me return this phone to normal or somewhere near? Thanks.

There is no "safe mode"
Is there any display in bootloader?
What does RSD Lite recognise the phone as?
There is every chance they have screwed up your phones PDS

The idiots at the store should have told you that if you were using it on ATT, it was unlocked, because the razr came out after the att stores were switched over.

I actually got the phone on a warranty exchange on the att network. I did try to insert the cingular sim chip but it didn't work? Do you think the guy toasted the phone?

Yes - however you could fix it with a Smartclip - look for a post by Old_fool and send him an email
