If you can find a provider that provided billing by the second, let me know.

Oh hell no, you don't get off that easy. You come in here blowing smoke and calling people names, don't chicken-shit out now.
It's common knowledge that minutes are rounded off. Has been since the beginning of cellphone time. What rock were you born under to not know this? I wonder about the CSR that said "I'll be honest, they count 30 seconds as 1 minute." No shit, lady, no carrier has ever tried to hide this. I've been using mobile phone for almost 20 years and this is one of the first thing I READ in the contract. You know, reading, what you do to get through life and stuff....
"I didn't post on this site to be placated, nor did I post to hear from a Cingular advocate."
Well, why in the hell did you post? Oh, I get it, you been done wrong!! The big bad phone company didn't spoon-feed the conditions into yer brain and you want to blame someone. Well, why not, it's the 21st century. As for the site being down, get over it. It happens. Don't let your minutes run out and be caught with no service. And see what a nice guy I was, I didn't make any well-deserved cracks about having pre-paid service.

The first time I run out and try to use my credit card to reload, both on the phone itself and online, the service that allows me to do that is down? I can't even give them more money. I find that there are problems no matter which service I've ever used, but this is pretty shoddy for sure. |
You know, your original post was more than a bit vague on exactly what you hoped to accomplish in this post. Certainly you came to vent & complain, and I suppose that may be reason enough. But it seems to me that you don't have a particular direction in which this thread is headed.
It has been your responses, however, that have largely driven this thread especially in the face of (initially) neutral & informative posts. Elmo's post simply offered information - perhaps with the thought that you were unaware of how Cingular (and most companies, to my knowledge) charged with regards to minutes and where you could refill minutes.
I don't know where this thread will go, but I suspect that it can only head downhill unless some clarification is made: what do you hope to accomplish by posting here? Even if you hadn't insulted those who responded (and you have, so please own up to that), your first post simply isn't clear.
I could parse it, but it would be better if you took this opportunity to simply explain what you hope to accomplish: are you looking for help on resolving the issues you outlined or simply to vent your spleen? Telling us that would help us approach you with serious suggestions, venting with you or defending Cingular (it is a Cingular forum, with Cingular customers and customer service representatives [CSR], so you can't expect that everyone here is dissatisfied with Cingular).
In short (something I'm not so good at), welcome to the forums, seeing as how this is your first thread & set of posts. There are some excellent and generous people here - just give us enough time to prove that.
Respectfully,
Jacob M.
P.S. While it is not my place to request one, not being an offended party, I would simply point out that a sincere apology for perhaps hastily typed comments would not go awry.

You'd be surprise how many customers do the same thing every day thinking we're scamming them for something that:
1) all companies do
2) all companies have been doing for a long tine
3) all companies CLEARLY put in the contracts
