I visited a Verizon store and they had them at the store but the guy said they could not sell them until the release date on Nov. 27th. I got to actually play around with one.

I was sold the 9900 today. I was looking at smartphones originally then realized I didn't need that much phone...mainly just text message friendly and capable of basic appointment/reminder functions met my needs. So far, I love it. Picture quality is the best I've seen in a phone. All I have done re: music is download a song for my ringer. I didn't have time to dedicate to it today. I didn't expect to get it today. It wasn't displayed. I just asked when 9900 was coming out, he said he had it, I asked if he could sell it. I'm not good with cell phone jargon/specs, but I am very pleased so far.

So how much did the phone cost you? Upgrade phone to renew contract or are you a new vz customer? Where are you located? Is it thinner than the vx 9800? Did they say anything about the Motorola L7c being released? I was considering that phone also because I figured it would be cheaper than the vx9900.

I am in Dallas. I was upgrading (new every 2). Phone, car charger, carrying case, and tax total was $135 after my $100 discount for 2 yr contract renewal. I was originally told the phone itself was 250, but i would get $100 off plus another $50 off after mail-in rebate. But, it only rang up for $100 (no mail-in). It is much thinner than the 9800. Sorry...I have no info on the L7c. I was looking for a keyboard. On Wednesday, I was in a Verizon store and they told me they didn't have it yet, but they did have a dummy that they let me see. You may try that if you want to compare size before you can actually find the phone. My girlfriend got the chocolate on Wed. but now she wants the 9900.

wow that is awesome (for the price). phone is still not available in california yet. i'm surprised that it's already in store in dallas but not listed online yet.
how is the reception? i hate phones that have internal antennas - reception compared with phones that have external antennas is just awful. my current samsung a950 sucks.
