My contract with VZW expired this month. Im shopping around the different companies to see who is offering the best deal. Now in my searching, i was looking at the MotoKRZR phone. On Best Buy they are offering this phone for $99.00 with a new contract with VZW. I naturally got excited and jumped on over to the VZW website to see if i could use that nice $100.00 discount they are giving me. However, i was very disappointed to find the VZW site offers the MotoKRZR for $199.99!!! So with my "discount" or w/e adjective you might want to fill in there, it would me $99.99!? I called VZW right away to ask why they would be EXACTLY $100.00 (the exact amount of my "discount") over the cost at best buy. The answer i got astonished me. The rep replied "they can charge whatever they want as can we". The rep then tried to sell be 2 regular RAZR phones for $49.99. Again i pleaded with the rep that best buy was offering the RAZR FOR FREE to new mbrs and why should i pay $49.99 as an existing customer? Not to mention i wanted the KRZR not the RAZR. I called back and spoke to a different rep who told me that Best Buy was affiliated with VZW and were "basically the same company". i couldnt help but laugh at the poor girl because if they were the "same company", i should be getting the "same price".
So am i missing something here? Or does it seem that VZW just increases the prices of the phones on their site just enough to make that "New Every 2" literally pointless? where the advantage of being a return customer? Ive read several other posts here, so please dont give me that "OMG Verizon is trying to make money" comment. Im not asking them to give me a BOGO deal here, but if BB can give me the phone for $99.00, i should be able to get the same deal and then use my $100.00 to get a brand new MotoKRZR for FREE.
Please someone enlighten me as to what im missing here and why my feelings of disappointment arent justified...

update: after 5 phone calls, 1 hang up, and finally speaking to a supervisor. they couldnt explain why a new mbr would get the same deal as a returning mbr. they were actually speechless (the managers words). The supervisor was a bit more understanding to my questions and offered me a KRZR for the same $99.99 WITH a $50.00 rebate (mail in but ill still take it) AND is giving me a RAZR for FREE as a mix and match BOGO!
finally im satisfied. i was hoping for a KRZR for free, but $50.00 is good enough for those 2 phones IMO. persistence does pay off it seems

When you got the BOGO, did you have two lines that were due for the two year activation fee?

Ditto the BOGO, you must have two phones on your account!?!?! I am guessing here.. New customers while sometimes with an "authorized dealer" may depending the the dealer promo, get it alittle less but they also have new activation fees.. as well as the contract info can have additional requirements. So, NE2 customers, ususally depending on the phone , can and do many times end up better.. Example, new customer today getting a Moto V3 would pay $49.99 where as a cust eligible for the NE2 would get it free after $50.00 rebate which is "instant" online, not mail in..

On 2nd thought, the Krzr does not come with a Razr as a bogo... Doesn't add up, oh well!
