I'm currently with Nextel and I'm looking to switch to a different wireless carrier. I am considering either Verizon or Cingular. I need to have unlimited access to my POP3 email on the phone and have unlimited internet access.
Here's my question: With Verizon Mobile web, can I get access to my POP3 email accounts? From what I understand, it looks like I can only access AOL, Hotmail, MSN, Yahoo email but not POP3 email. I need someone to explain to me what I need in order to get POP3 email access through Verizon. I DO NOT want to purchase a Smartphone/PDA/Blackberry phone due to the high monthly costs. I want to just purchase a regular phone and purchase the $15 mobile web access monthly fee.
From what I read, it seems like I can use a 3rd part application like Soda Pop to access my POP3 email but it looks like I would be charged airtime for my usage.
For this reason, I'm leaning towards Cingular. Because they have the new 3G network and I would only have to pay $19.99 a month for unlimited web and POP3 access.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I thought the Motorola Q data plan was the same, but I wanted a phone phone, not a pda phone or an mp3 player phone, or a camera phone.

Most phone these Days are not just Phone Phones.
I know of very few phones that do not support MP3 Rintones. and with the newer high end lines coming out the MP3 phones are slowly becomeing main stream. My VX8300 was only $29.00 with a renewal of my contract.

What do you mean web access is not required? Do I need to subscribe to Mobile Web in order to use this service? I am planning to get unlimited Mobile web for $5 a month.
How is airtime calculated when I access this site to retrieve my emails?
