PROBLEM:
I just started to make a call, and as the phone was dialing the inner screen went blank. I closed the phone and noticed the outer screen displayed the Verizon logo upside-down. (.?.) I plugged in the power charger, but nothing. The upside-down logo would not go away and I could not restart the phone.
SOLUTION:
After reading the above posts about cycling power/removing the battery, I removed+re-installed the battery and the phone works just fine now.
CONCLUSIONS: This last week I've not really used the phone, so it has been on for the whole week without being re-charged. Previously, I've never gone more than 2-2.5 days w/out recharging it or/and cycling the power. I am thinking now that what several of the above posts say might be true -- cell phones work better if the power is occasionally cycled. I have had the LG VX5300 for ~1.5 years. Previously, I had the LG 3300. I think LG is a good brand and the 5300 is a good phone, as this is the only problem I've ever had w/it.
