Perhaps some of you have already asked this question many times, however, my search shows up thousands of threads, so forgive me for asking again.
I just got a new black Razr V3 from my local T-Mobile store. It seems no matter where I go, the phone always picks up Cingular network and, of course, roaming. According to the information on T-Mobile's website, the area I am in should have pretty good coverage. I understand that there are some roaming agreements between Cingular and T-Mobile, but, is this normal?
Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the grey v3 because tmobile does not have a true black v3. What kind of store did yoi go to (corp or dealer) and if its a dealer what is the name. Is the phone branded to tmobile or unlocked?

I don't know much about phones, but this Razr I have is definitely "all black". The label underneath the battery cell says "V3ROHS". I got this phone and the service plan from an authorized T-Mobile dealer. He carries more than just T-Mobile. I don't think the phone is T-Mobile branded because he told me the phone is a "world phone" and can be used even overseas.

World phone just means you can use it anywhere in the world there is a gsm signal. It sounds like the phone may have been from cingular and unlocked. If you are positive it should say tmobile and you are not in a roaming location you are going to need to do a SEEM edit. See the moto forum on how to do this. I'd watch what the phone says as your drive around and see if it changes to tmobile, you never know, but it could be a roaming location.

SEEM edit would bring him a big headache, doesn't he know much about phone? And it'd be tougher for shadow2556 in modding world. Here's my suggestion:
1-Settings>Network>Network Setup>make sure:
-Brand: Auto.
-Type: Auto.
-Speed: Med.
2-Settings>Network>Available Networks>Search>then you might see TMobile&Cingular there,choose appropriate one>Done
Then you should have correct Provider

Thanks for the reply. I verified your suggestions with my phone. Everthing seemed to be in the right order.
As far as editing SEEM goes, I can't get P2Kman.exe or P2KTools.exe to talk to my Razr V3R. I carefully followed the instructions posted in Motorola Tutorials and installed all drivers, but still couldn't connect the phone to my PC. I then downloaded a trial version of DataPilot software, I was able to have that software talked to my phone and got all the phone numbers downloaded. This seems to indicate that my "hardware" is good. I am wondering, perhaps, I need a new driver that supports Razr V3R?
