Thousands of ppl buy thier own phones they make thier money even if they do give rebates so the the point of a cancellation fee $200.00 per line is bull crap Idea all I see in that idea is to hold a knife to someones neck. What is up with that. People arent made of money and it doesnt grow on trees gas prices are so damn high might as well give them a finger every time i fill my car up. Some ppl have been looking for work for over a year and cant afford the stupid fee and beside we pay for the services and what ever else come with the phone who gives them the right to take more money just for not being with them its a LOAD OF CRAP. I undestand it all the Tmobile ppl that dont like the company I'am a Tmobile/ hell customer I had nothing but problems with the dragon tatoo razar the caller id quit working on the first phone the second replacement phone just didnt work at all and now ive gone threw 2 phone exchanges of a different model and they both had problems. I've been a customer of 3 months now. I live in Oregon and I want a law to be passed in all states to make Tmobile and all the other cell phone companies to get rid of the early cancellation fee why should the consumer be "PUNISHED" just for not wanting to be with the company. "SO THIS IS A CALL TO ALL LEGAL AMERICAN VOTERS" we need to fight this so all thoes that want to we neeed to get a patetion going across United states take this all the way to congress And if thier is any body with any legal experience is thier any way we can go about in doing this. This cannot be allowed to continue " WE DONT STAND UP AND FIGHT THIS THEY WILL JUST KEEP ON DOING THIS TO DECENT TAX PAYING AMERICANS FOR YEARS TO COME" and this can not be alowed to continue it is a way to just force ppl to stay with them and that is not right. So i applaud the lawyers for doing this finaly somone has the right idea.

I forgot a few things is my last posting for all you pro tmobile ppl and thier statments about how you can cancel within the first 14 days and no fee crap that holds about as much water as a bucket with holes in it your about 1% in vast majority in the Tmobile group that are happy. So your praises of the company dont mean jack. First as for me I sighned up over the telephone on 5/10/07 and the account was active from that date I know this beacuse my first bill started on that date I didnt recieve my phone till one week later. So I got the phone it worked fine for 3 days then the caller id quit working for no reason so got a replacement phone took 1 week to get the replacement phone so thiers over 14 days and the no cancellation fee is out the window. The second phone worked for 1 day then just quit working for no reason so now i just recieved my third phone on 4/4/07 and it seems to work so far. I cant cancel beacuse im on a family plan with my wife and I have 2 lines so thiers $400.00 to do so. I'am a in home care provider my wife has M.S. and she gets SSI and i have a growing year old daughter together we dont make very much money so I have this knife up to my neck it fills like forcing me to stay with them IM A AMERICAN DAMIT and care alot about consumers that arnet made of money beacuse im one of them and I'am serious we need laws past to get this early cancelation fee gone for good. "stand with me Americans.

Did the same knife against you neck force you to buy the phone? Did that same knife whisper in your ear telling you that you needed a cell phone to survive even though you don't make a lot of money? Did that same knife convince you that you needed a Dragon RAZR Tattoo phone, instead of a more reasonable phone?

Sorry, but there are no knives being held to your neck, and the gasoline and cell phone business' have nothing to do with each other. So I don't think your argument holds any more water the a 'bucket full of holes'

I work as a dealer, and my program tells me how much we (the dealer) pays for the phone. Unfortunately we pay almost SRP for the phones that we sell. We don't order them from the service providers. We have to order them from a supply company, so there is little chance for 'competition' to reduce prices for us.

So phones cost A LOT, and if you want to pay more for them, get rid of the ETF. Then again, you signed a contract. Without the ETF you would be sued for breach of contract, and ordered to pay damages. Likely that would be the amount of what is owed on the contract based on service agreement and remaining months, but also the legal fees of the service providers.

Of course we could get rid of contracts all together. Then EVERY single independant dealer for the service provider would be put out of business, because we get paid because of the contract, not the price of the phone. Good job removing a large number of small business', that's always good for the economy.

We can take a look at the phone companies, but to a large extent, you generally only have one provider of local phone service, where as you have several cell service options. With only one local provider available, they can spend according to what the expect to receive. A cell provider would not be able to rely on that, and hence could spend very little, based on no expectations. A restaurant business model is simple. Provide a good service people will come back, very little in the way of uncontrollable factors. For a cell company, they would have to try and expand without any idea of what income to expect, which would actually reduce the expansion of cell sites. I've seen a lot of business models used to compare, to show that contracts are not necessary, and that prices would go down if they weren't there. But those are different models, based on different expectations. Why do you think there are not any new companies? The new cell model is MVNO which rents air time from a provider who already has the infrastructure in place.
Everywhere in the world cell companies have contracts. That is the business model. If you don't want contracts, expect service to degrade, and phone prices to skyrocket.
And to say that we are AMERICAN CITIZENS and we need to stand up to the blah blah blah. Being an American citizen doesn't entitle you to really cheap cell phone service. Cell service is a luxury item, meaning you don't need it to survive. So quit your b|tcing already.
Everytime you see a class-action lawsuit think about how much money that will cost you. A class-action lawsuit is legal extortion that a lawyer uses to get rich. Most participants other then the lawyer will recieve generally a few free minutes, a a couple to less then a hundred dollars. The lawyer however gets 30-66% as administration fees. So the corporation hikes prices to cover the cost, and the lawyer retires to a private island in the Carribean. Who's the bloodsucker. The corporation that works to provide a service and make a profit from it, so that they can provide more services to make more profits, to expand more services, to hire people to work at the expanded services, etc etc, you get the point. Or the lawyer, who jumps on an opportunity to get rich quick? The only ones who have anything to show after a class action lawsuit is the lawyer . . . who don't hire lots of people, don't help the economy, really all in all, they don't provide much. So tell me again who you root for. The corporation that hires you, or the lawyer that increases the amount you pay for items?!?!?!?

I can tell you work for the companies and will never care about consumers only your bottom line and thats a buyproduct of a capitalistic way of life so i expect such B.S from ppl like you. I didnt say gas was the same as cell phones buisness just that how much it cost the consumer to put gas in thiers car cars over $3.00 a gallon were i live and cost of living. "Mc Girk get my wording right" ! I care about the consumer OKAY even if i had a cell phone company i would still have no early cancelation fee buying bulk, and when customers buy the phones, and service fees would pay the bottom line.

Don't like capitalism huh? Who do you work for? I work for an independent dealer, not for 'the companies' as you put it. If you think capitalism is wrong, perhaps you should try living in a more socialist country. True this one get's worse every year. Funny thing is, you have no idea what you're talking about. You can 'buy bulk' all you want, but you'll only buy it for the price they're selling it for. You still don't get it, cell phones are a totally different business model then your average store, so you can't apply the average store business model rules to it. My company does NOT make money selling phones. We make money selling contracts. We LOSE money selling phones, and the service provider pays us a commission when we sell a contract. But I tell you what, prove ALL of us wrong. Start up an independent dealer for your choice of service provider. Buy the phones bulk, sell them low, activate under a no obligation (0 month contract) plan, eat the activation fee (take it out of your profit so the consumer doesn't have to pay it.). Show us all how to do it. Then when you're so successful, all of us will work to emulate it. The power to change the system is in your hands. GOD IT IS GREAT TO LIVE IN AMERICA. Here we not only have the power to b|tch and moan, but the power to affect change. Come back and let us know how it goes. Or better yet, I look forward to seeing your commercials on TV.

its funny that a law firm did not read the contract hahaha

Well it could be that T-Mobile law firm didn't check the
laws of the states that don't allow those type of fees.
