Hi,
A very general question I know but I wanted to clarify something I have read elsewhere.
Do all Nokia phone models not support the sending of MP3 by MMS? This has been true with the phones I have tried, and I have seen talk of Nokia coming to an agreement whereby all Nokia handsets will not support this feature.
Have I read this wrong? If not, will AMR be the way in which audio must be sent to a Nokia phone, or is there a new technology available?
Thanks in advance
Jack

amr should work since it is used for voice messages via MMS (I've send and received some myself).
mp3 isn't allowed due to copyright problems.

Thanks Bjoern, sending and receiving AMR files has worked fine for me as well.
With regards the copyright problems with MP3 - are Nokia phones actually made to be incompatible with MP3 because of possible copyright infringement, or is it a case of Nokia saying you "shouldn't" exchange MP3 via MMS (for example - it is technically possible to download music from Limewire/Bit Torrent, but in terms of legality you cannot).
Thanks

If the phone supports mp3, it will play.
Another thing why mp3s can't be send:
MMS can only contain files which are predfined as compatible to (quite) all phones, like jpg, like amr, like 3gp.
They all work on quite every phone and that way it is made sure that there won't be any incompatibilitys.

also: I read it has a REAL-MEDIA PLAYER support installed - can anybody actually confirm that short video clips with .rm extension are playable on this phone ?
thanks

Yes, the E61 can play mp3 and aac files.
And yes, it can play Real Media files, but not all of them.
Only those made for phones.

If you wanna watch videos, you might wanna use the free DiVX player ( http://mobile.divx.com - can't be displayed with the IE, but with your phone or Opera or Firefox) and use "Super" to convert the files:
