I recently purchased an unlocked L6 SLVR that seems to be for the Hong Kong market....but I will be using it here in the US.
I wanted to connect my computer to the phone and initially things seemed OK when I did...(usual popup asking to look for drivers and what not comes up).
I tried using the P2KMan drivers (p2k.inf, USBMOT2000.INF) and the computer installs the phone under a MOTOROLA USB MODEM device. Ok great....I diagnose the device using the device manager submenu and it seems there's communication.
I restart the computer and reattach the phone to the computer to make sure there are no other driver that need installing. Nothing else comes up so I figure I'm good to go.
Now I launch the P2Kman.exe and as soon as I do that, the device manager indicates that there is no more MOTOROLA USB MODEM device but rather now an unidentified USB device with the yellow exclamation mark on it.
So I decide to re-install the driver and windows cannot find any suitable driver available for this device...WTF.
I even tried using the official Motorola drivers (filename = Motorola_EU_Driver_Installation.msi) and also downloaded SLVL6 drivers and none of the drivers are compatible anymore.
This is really pathetic as plug-and-play items like this shouldn't be so freaking difficult to manage. Either Motorola has really written some crappy USB protocols or the phone just plain sucks.
