Verizon's always had CDMA, it would cost to much to fully convert to GSM, I have friends that have verizon and depending where you live Verizon may be better, but here in the bay area, we (cingular, I work for an authorized dealer) we were voted #1 and I myself use cingular and almost always have service, My friends lose service all around the bay, check the coverage maps in your area

cingular sends requests to sony ericsson to get unlock codes we do not have a data bank full of them. unlock codes are imei specific and since the manufacturer makes the phones and give them a specific imei they have the codes. i work in the tech department, i know what im talking about.

Looking at the service map thats provided on the Cingular website it says that my area is well covered. And what about the role over minutes, how long do they actually role over. And does it get to a certain point and then you loose them all? Sometimes i dont know how verizon keeps memebers, there plans suck, the phone selection is pretty bad and the phones are locked.

Their phones aren't locked, they're CDMA, no sim. All GSM carriers lock their phones.
Rollover is all the time, it never expires, and there is no cap on it, the other day I Saw a lady with 1820 rollover minutes

Rollover minutes are unused anytime minutes that accumulate at the end of each month. They WILL expire within 12 months.
You would not lose your entire current Rollover balance; only those minutes that have existed for 12 billing periods.
If a price plan change occurs, the new Rollover balance is created from
the most recently accumulated minutes in the previous Rollover balance. I also seen an acct with over a 20, 000 rollover minute balance.obviously they were on a plan which provided minutes higher than their needs and were under the impression they could keep them if changing down to a lower plan. yikes.

Thanks for being patient with me. If you handset will not let you enter
these steps and you immediately get SIM error then there is problem
with
the sim card you are trying to use. Try these instructions and if this
doesn't work please call us back at 1-800-331-0500. Thank you.
Below are the handset specific instructions for unlocking your specific
model of phone. The customer only has five (5) tries to unlock the
phone. If this process is unsuccessful five times in a row, the phone
will be permanently locked to the Cingular network. If there are any
problems with unlocking your handset, please call 1-800-331-0500 and a
Customer Service Representative will be able to assist you. Once
again,
thank you for choosing AT&T Wireless and have a good day.
Sony Ericsson
-Insert non-Cingular SIM card
-Power on the handset
-Press the left Arrow (<) button
-Press the star (*) button twice
-Press the left Arrow (<) button
-display will indicate "ME Lock"
-wait approximately 3 seconds
-the display will indicate "Network" and a picture of a closed lock
Press Yes
-the display will indicate "Unlock?"
-Press Yes
-the display will indicate "Enter NCK"
-Enter the SIM Unlock code
-Press yes
-Then handset will display "Network" and a picture of an open lock for
three seconds and will then revert to the main display
-The handset is now successfully unlocked
