guys, I hope someone can help me, I really do.
I have a Samsung d900 on Orange network, so I got a USB cable, found the driver and got OneNand Downloader, along with the latest D900XAFI1.cla and cfg files to flash the firmware.
Anyway it took ages, and then right near the end my PC rebooted !!!! yes my PC....
I took the battery off the phone and then put it back on and tried to power the phone on, but nothing...... is my phone only good for the bin or is there a way to restart the flashing process ?
yours hoping

ok, managed to get it to reflash, but for some reason it is still locked to orange, so when it has booted up it says network lock, and all the orange logo's are still there.
How do I unbrand it and unlock it ? I thought it was just a case of flashing the firmware.
Cheers

yes. had to take it to someone with NSpro, and even then he had struggles.
He found that the network code and IMEI number was corrupted, so reflashed the UK firmware and he then reset the IMEI number back to the code on the back of the phone, and then NSpro unlocked it.
I think the person I got the phone from off ebay must have knackered the IMEI number and thats why they were selling it.
Cheers

@PSPGimp
Did you manage to completely get rid of the Orange branding? Was it worth it ??
Also what is this NSpro thing. i thought it was just a case of downloading the software and cable/battery then away you go ??
Ta for any info.

No I thought it was just a case of downloading new firmware as well, but it seems it isn't and the only way to unlock was to use nspro which is a specialist Samsung unlocking tool www.nsteam.org I think is the website. They are not cheap and not worth buying to unlock one phone, so I just did a tour of phone shops in my area until I found one with nspro.
Orange software is w@nk slows the phone down, much nicer with it set to unbranded imo
