Call tmobile and have them unlock it for you. And I would edit your post and remove the imei number, it isn't too smart to post that.

hi i removed the imei from the post. not sure, but what can happen if i left the imei posted on the site? also in the past i removed the restriction from a nokia and that seemed simple. i do not have a t-mobile account but was given the phone and its in good condition. i wanted to try using it since my phone is about 3 years old. i have been looking for unlock software to punch in codes but it seems hard to find it. would anyone know how to find the software for the v330 unlock and would i need a cable to unlock the phone ?
thanks for all the help so far

Hi,
Can you tell me how you were able to get T-Mobile to give you the unlock code for your phone? I switched from T-Mobile to AT&T/Cingular about a year ago and have given my old T-Mobile phone to a friend that just got deployed to Kuwait for a year. The problem now is that my old T-Mobile phone wasn't unlocked (I didn't even think about that when I sent him the phone) and because I haven't been a T-Mobile customer within the past 90 days, they won't give me the unlock code even though I left as a customer in good standing. The military provides SIM cards to the troops but they don't provide phones - that is up to the person to take care of that end of things. So, he is stuck in Kuwait with SIM cards that work and a phone that he can't use them in b/c of a technicality. Yea USA. If someone could help me out, that would be awesome.

Tmobile will generally give you the unlock code if you have someone else with a current tmobile account calling in for the code if they've had service for more than 90 days - if that does not work, you may want to google services that you pay for to have the device unlocked. Other than that, I can't think of any other way. Sorry.
