Ok, i recently got a Samsung T629 and tonight i got a 1GB microSD memory card with a Transflash adapter. I have a 13 in 1 memory card reader in my computer so i can see the folder, but when i try to drag music or photos into the memory card's folder, it says "the disk is write-protected, remove the write protection or use another cd." I dont understand what that means. I am not using a cd, i am using MP3 format songs that are from Itunes.

Nm, all I did was take the Transflash off of "hold" and it works now.

You can't just drag and drop it...you need to put the card into the phone and then connect the phone via USB...and most likely either sync it with windows media player (if it has windows media player) or if not just open the PHONE and then go to storage card through your my computer

Are you using Samsung's free software? Go to their support site and look under this model phone's downloads. I downloaded and installed it and am waiting for my data cable to come in the mail. Still, shouldn't the card should be recognized as a mass storage device even if not accessed in-phone via USB?

I didn't see another person's post that addressed this issue:
There's a lock slider button on the SD card adapter. Slide it out of the lock position and it won't be write protected anymore.

The mp3s can only be in a select few bitrates. 128 and 192 should be ok. make sure they are not variable bitrates, that definitely doesn't work.
