I lost my phone (LG CU320) yesterday. I called lockline insurance for a replacement and they are willing to replace it ASAP (good customer service). But the phone had several problems anyways out of the box.
I asked if they can send me a different phone with same features and they said they can't because my make and model is available. I've had insurance for over 3 years and this is myfirst time I'm using it. Kinda feels like I'm being ripped off by not having an option to receive a different phone of the same value.
Luckily Cingular can give me a free sim. I'll pick that up tonight and use my brother's Moto V220 for the meantime.
Isn't the cu320 discontinued? Why would they send me a discontinued phone? I'll contact cingular again and try to get a rep that will give me more info rather then repeating "Sir, you're a VIP customer and available an upgrade". I don't even think being vip has any advantages. Plus I deserve a free phone (or $50 deductable phone) without having to buy a 2 year contract.
I read the policy that i signed and it says insurance will replace the phone with another phone with the same value or features, but it did not say anywhere that it will be the same model if available so I guessing that there's a posibility i can get what i want if I'm nice to them. I hope
help anyone... Thanks!!!

That's not Cingular's call to make. Lockline makes the decisions on that.
Let's look at this from a logical perspective. If you buy a Ford vehicle and your car gets totalled, will your insurance company replace it with a Chevy? Nope, nor should they---even if the Ford gave you some miscellaneous problems and you want the newest and greatest new car on the market.
See where I'm coming from??

Yes I'm aware Lockline calls the shots. But I thought cingular works very close with lockline and hoping cingular can help in any way.

I don't work for Cingular but have worked for both TMo and VZW and lockline has been a thorn in all provider's sides in regards to their inability to be influenced by "us"....nonetheless it couldn't hurt to try.

I"ll certainly doesn't hurt to try. But if all fails I guess I'll just get my phone back. For a $50 and i ca upgrade to a much better phone but that's another 2 years of dropped calls.

yes I know and I've heard some good things about them. But i need a phone that uses a sim card because I travel to Philippines often and they I usually buy a pre-paid sim card while i'm there. And once i'm ready to upgrade I send my old phones to family in Philippines.

Take a look on verizonwireless.com and check out the Samsung I830, which is a CDMA/GSM capable phone. Will work with both technologies.

Lockline said there is no exceptions. Lady said as long as the have LG CU320 in the warehouse that's all the can send me. I wonder how many cu320 they have in the return center. I have 60 days to clain my phone. Maybe in the next 60 days they'll run out of the cu320? I doubt it but then I'll be using my bro's V220 which barely has any features. Maybe I should try speaking with a manager.
