In an unfortunate housing replacement error, I have severed the ribbon cable connecting the phone to the LCD on my Motorola V551. I have already purchased a replacement from Cingular (got my wife the Pink SLVR). The phone still powers on, and there are pictures and ringtones I would like to rescue from it. Is it possible to fire up the bluetooth with no LCD and can someone supply with step-by-step key presses to turn it on?
Thanks in advance.

You would do better with a USB cable and mobiledit (www.mobiledit.com) or one of the p2k programs
You could get a replacement cable from cnn.cn

I thought about going the cable route, but I do not already own it and frankly I will probably trash this phone after saving my data.

Sounds good to me, soon as i figure out a way (hopefully free) to get my stuff off it. Luckily all the phone numbers were on the SIM.
