I just got the Motorola Razr and it will not work in my Sewing Room. I have 10 more days to return it. I had the LG 3200 and it worked much better except I had problems with the battery. I am now looking at the LG VX5300 or LG VX8300. The reason I got the Razr is because I thought my son sent me video clips of my grandson. He does not have video but might get it. I was also interested in the extended life battery but some say it is not necessory. I just want a good phone for pictures and good reception. Please give me your opinions.
Thanks,
Sue in Wyoming

Sue...the 5300 is a tri-mode phone, so you might be better off with it. Both support the pix/flix option and both are bluetooth capable. The 8300 is better for music and VCast but for your needs, I think the 5300 would do you better.

tampadelphian--thanks for your reply. Can you tell me if the picture quality is the same on the 5300 and the 8300? I really like the picture quality of the Motorola Razr and would like something as good or am I asking too much?
Thanks,

All three phones have 1.3 megapixel cameras, so the quality would be the same. The screen itself on the Razr is a little bigger, though.

I have been doing some more research and I only find that the 5300 camera is 0.3 and the 8300 is 1.3. I that what you are talking about?

wow...you're right. My error. The diff between and 300 and a 1.3 is huge. If the camera is important then you might want to take a look at the 8300. Even though it's digital only it gets rave reviews regarding signal strength.
Sorry for the misinformation.

I think you would do good with the VX8300, was looking at one in VZW store the other day, and i must say a very nice phone. plus after new 2yr contract, and MIR it was only 39.99. i would have gotten that one if i hadnt seen the one that i got.

Thanks to everyone for your help. I did get the 8300 but had to take the first one back--battery would not stay charged and there was a beep every time I talked to my son. Last week I got a new 8300 and so far it is working okay--At least I have gotten a Complete Charge message.
I do have a question if anyone knows the answer--there is a rebate that expires 1/15/2007 but the guy at the store said I should wait to send in the rebate to make sure this phone works too. Also, the 15th is a Holiday and there will not be any mail delivery. He said they will continue the rebate but how do I get a new rebate form? The store is 90 miles away and I sure don't want to drive all that way for a rebate form.
Thanks,

you can go online to Verizons website and complete a rebate form that way. I had the same issue with my Samsung SCH-A930 when i purchased it. go to https://verizonwireless.com/rebates and complete the rebate form, and they will email you when your MIR has been processed.
