Wouldn't I need to install a card reader into my computer first?

Yes!
You can use bluetooth to transfer files to/from your Samsung t629. You simply need to download the Samsung software from Samsung's t629 website.
This forum doesn't allow me to post the URL to that site for your convenience, but you can goto Samsung's website and search for product support for the t629 and you should find the download link on the right hand side of the t629 support page.
Assuming you have a bluetooth adapter on your PC, you can launch the Samsung PC Studio and it will walk you through a connection wizard to connect your PC to your device.
The software is fairly intuitive -- you can't load java apps using this software (as far as I can tell), but you can use it to synchronize contacts and calendar information, download/upload images, audio and other files, and transfer data to/from your phone.
The advantage of the USB cable is that it also works as a trickle charger -- so that's a small plus.
Hope that helps,

I'm not sure if the software is required -- but it makes it easy. I haven't tried to transfer files without it. The software is freely available to download but it is only available for windows.

Aww. I use an iBook, but that's okay. My brother uses an inspirion, so I should be able to download the software on his. I'm sure he won't mind...much. Again, thanks for everything .

So wait. I ordered a bluetooth dongle class 1.2 on amazon.com and it's supposed to be arriving on tuesday. All I have to do is put it into the computer's port, run the software and activate the bluetooth on my phone, then I'll be connected? There's nothing else I would need to do?
