Help! Just bought dad v500 from ebay. It did not have a sims card installed and when he took it to Cingular to get a new sims card, they could not get any to work. Can someone please send suggestions on where to buy sims card for this phone and what type of sims card is needed?

The phone lights up. When a call is placed, receive message call fail. When I call the phone, it rings and goes to voice mail. The weird thing is they tried a sims card from a Cingular pre-paid phone or phone to go from a friend and the sims card worked with no problem.

Make sure your cingular account isn't suspended.

probably, but call customer service and see whats up with your account because if a go sim worked than its between you and cingular not you and the phone
