Ok so I got the VX8600 today with my renewel discaount for like $29. Great Deal. I specifically got it because it played mp3's and the reviews said it was an upgrade from the regular chocolate. When I opened it up and opened up the little music pack, I read the devistating words "not compatable with itunes or OSX." Guess I shoulda checked, but I just figured, "Any company attempting to appeal to a media driven market would make a 'music phone' compatable with an apple." Rediculous...... Microsoft must have paid them off pretty well.
So I am asking for advice on any tricks to getting MP3s on the phone, via Bluetooth, memory card, etc.
Any advice will help.
Thanks.

I'd be surprised if it was not compatible. I have the Chocolate and everything interfaces flawlessly w/ PowerbookG4/Bluetooth /BITPIM/ITunes
Get bitpim- its freeware http://www.bitpim.org/#status
use bluetooth to transfer files to and from phone and use a usb card reader for the micro sd card to interface w/ your puter. Browse the threads here about the chocolate and you'll figure it out. If not, just ask.

I got my VX8600 last week with the same deal you got kain! Great phone and you can email yourself ringMP3s just like the chocolate. I use XP not OSX but I use itunes to convert my wzv files to mp3. Maybe they just put that on the package because you can't sync your phone with itunes like with an ipod, but I don't have the cable so I didn't try that. But as far as texting a ringer to your phone is concerned, it will work no matter what programs or computers you use.

Aren't you getting duplicate mp3 files? I've a whole lotta postings here and on Howard Forums about this problem, as I and others have had this problem with getting the Chocolate to work with Macs.
Interested to know what you're doing different, if you're not getting duplicate mp3 (unplayable) files.

Does bitpim list your phone in the Phone Wizard?
Change your iTunes preferences to convert to MP3......select the song you want in the playlist section and under "ADVANCED" pull down window at the top select convert to mp3 and voila. afterwards, look for the song in the itunes finder menu and look for the suffix.mp3....better yet hit apple>f keys and type in nameofsong.mp3 and there it is.

kainalo12,
Check out my reply in the subject "Music on KRZR". LG VX8600 & VX8300 both worked exactly the same way I described for the KRZR, except they will format the card for you. Now good luck in getting a good 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter! Something I'm looking into currently.
