From Saberpoint. It must be branded.

Does it physically say cingular anywhere on the phone (like on the back by the battery cover)? You may want to look to the moto forum if this is the case.

well you wanna try your t-mob sim card in the v3i if it prompts you for an unlock code then you should return the phone, because cingular wont unlock it, and t-mob wont either, and moto will tell you to call the provider. but if your able use your sim card in that phone, then just don't worry about it, it's in the software. changing it would be more risk then it's worth.

So, I've had the T Mob Sim in it and it works great except for sending and receiving pics.

yea for pictures (MMS) and data (t-zones) you'll either need to use the configuration tool at t-Mobile's web site. or give tech care a call from a different handset, they can help you get it set up.

Hey there,
Don't listen to these other guys. Your phone is roaming on Cingular which is allowed with t mobile plans free of charge. However it can totally screw with your data usage like pix messages since Cingular and T Mobile don't use the same data servers.
If you want to fix it you can
A) do a manual network selection in the settings for your phone
or B) wait until you're back in T Mobile coverage.
Hope this helps
