Summary of my Flashing experience

  1. Downloaded and installed Burst torrent software
  2. Downloaded and installed Motorola Driver pack version 2.2.0.0 found using .ru in google search
  3. Found RSD Lite 2.7 torrent file to use with Burst for downloading RSD Lite 2.7. Maybe I should have looked for RSD 2.5, uhhm?
  4. Installed RSD Lite 2.7 which would not recognize my phone but Phone Tools 4.0 would
  5. Forced all drivers* to install by opening RSD Lite then Motorola Phone Tools then closed MPT 4.0 application. The Hardware was now asking for .inf files to install drivers, did that.
  6. PRESTO! RSD Lite recognized my V3i iTunes phone
  7. Tried to backup with PK2Tools but couldn’t. PKTools wouldn’t recognize phone in lieu of RSD seeing the phone … so I didn’t backup despite the ill feeling in my gut. OOOPS!
  8. Found Monster Pack (MP) with Language Pack 0003 that looked nice (R479_G_08.B4.34R)
  9. Flashed the phone.
  10. Discovered that Bootloader 0A.30 couldn’t be overwritten. I kept getting Fatal Error 80 40. I read a post that claimed bootloader 0A.30must be handled by a Testpoint machine on this phone, I dunno?
  11. Decided to disband from upgrading the bootloader to 0A.40 and flash with 0A.30 MP.
  12. SUCCESS! RSD Lite 2.7 asked me to manually reboot the V3i but it wouldn’t. Keyboard light flickered ON/OFF. NOOOOT!
  13. Pressed the * # and power button at the same time to power the phone
  14. Flashed with reflash file R479_G_08.B4.34R, no help
  15. Flashed with R47A_G_08.D8.35R which is closest match to original R47A_G_08.D8.88R with Flex GSPSLQAT675UPOD8 … now the V3i startup screen shows before the phone shuts down. Can’t make a call that quick icon_sad.gif

Well that’s where I’m at, sitting here watching my wagon go away with my V3i on it. Anyone have a legitimate link to an OEM monster pack or reflash file like the one above? Can you help me make this V3i iTune phone made in Singapore work again?

*Driver list: Composite device, accessories interface, MCU data logging interface, Test Command Interface, Motorola Flash Interface

Everything I tried lead me "know" where. I luckily found an experienced modder here in town. I corrupted the PDS using a monster pack that wasn't fit the itunes platform. He repaired the PDS, loaded a compatible monster pack that was Cingular friendly and it works fine now. Focus on the PDS repair and be certain any software or flex you load is compatible with platform of your phone. Good Luck.
