i purchased my phone and plan through mobiledia.com and I need to know if its ok to add the $4.99 400 text message addon to my plan. I know i cannot downgrade my plan or i will have to pay mobiledia $250, i really cannot afford that $250, so please help me out if you have experience or know what your talking about.

the 400 msg bundle is a feature you can add on to all the postpaid plans. I highly suggest adding it on, you can do so through t-zones, my-tmobile or you can dial 611 from your handset. and if you find that 400 isn't enough you can always change it.

You'll find t-mobile is very flexible when it comes to features.

Yea, you can add or remove additional features as you wish without paying the 250. If you change the amount of minutes you have, then you may run into trouble.

will the effects of an upgrade take place instantly? or will it take a full billing cycle.

Upgrading your voice plan takes until the first day of a new billing cycle. Upgrading something like the number if messages you can send should be instant but may take a few hours.

from my expereince, T-mobile effects any requested change in your service within 2 to 24 hours (standard lingo) and charges you pro-rata for the service(s) added/deleted/changed.
