Just dumped Net10 (Tracfone) in favor of t-mobile 2 go. Got the Samsung t319 from walmart. I have a temp number now, and it's in the process of porting the number over i used with Net10. The only usable signal at my house is cingular. Its the only one that shows up when i search available networks, but fails to register with it. When i attempt a call it says "Emergency calls only" Prepaid is supposed to allow roaming on Cingular right? Maybe the reason it wont associate yet is b/c of the number porting process?
Completely seperate question. Is therer any way to take pics and store them right to the phone memory without sending them through the network and thus getting charged $0.25 a pop?

Go to compass.t-mobile.com to verify you have coverage at your house. Your signal may be so weak that you can not pick anything up in your house, and that would explain why you can't roam on cingular. Also, I'm not sure prepaid is allowed to roam off of tmobiles network.

I'm in a "2 out of 6" bar area according to their prepaid map legend. Post paid map looks identical in my area. In fact it's identical for the entire state of GA. Anyone with a prepaid know if you can lock on to Cingular? Been over 24 hrs., guess ill give them a call.. It's funny the closest tower to my house is unlisted on this site.

2/6 may not be good enough to get signal in your house. See if its any better outdoors. Also, check for down towers in your area.

Doesn't work anywhere in the yard either. To my suprise a T-mobile guy actually showed up at my house this morning with some kind of "special" phone that records signal strenghts. He showed me that there was a tower about 1.5 miles from here. Also he showed me on the map several other customers have complained in the area. Actually they've been wanting to build a tower closer to here but it's been shot down by the community woho see it as nothing but an "eyesore" Damn citizens
