i know tmobile doesnt have their 3G network out yet, but i was curious if their HSDPA network would be compatible with the ones outside of the US. i know cingular's is for US only, but someone told me the 3G network tmobile was going to roll out would be compatible world wide. true? any clarifications?

I donno, t-mo took a chance on EDGE and lost, as for 3G, it is quickly becoming the standard, but i hear the Japanese are already trying to phase out 3G for something even more cutting edge.

Tmobiles 3g will not be matching the rest of the world. Europe uses 1900up/2100dn, tmobile will ise 1700up/2100dn. Haven't heard anything about japan moving past 3g, but sprint announced plans to launch 4g wimax by year end.

it's kinda sad that tmobile is a bit behind in network technology. it could be so much more...*sigh*

I think that this will change in 6 months when 3g goes live. Tmobile now has the spectrum to get their network up to date.

thats kind of sweet so if i switched to tmo and got say a nokia n80 that uses the euro 2100mhz 3g band it would work hmm good thing i have no more contract with my cingular line. 3g t-mo is going to be awsome as heck. all the cool euro 3g phones would work on it. to an extend i imagine. but still sweet.

Its too bad though that a euro phone won't work with tmobile 3g because of the aws bands.

changing the radio band shouldn't be too tough IMO.
