I was called by rep and agreed to upgrade my plan....same price, more minutes.... and get the ne2 free phones. That was in Sept. Bad things were going on in my life at the time and I could not deal with learning a new phone at the time, so I never even opened the box.
Am ready for a new learning challenge so just opened the box. In the big pack of info, there is something that says if phone is not activated in 2 weeks time from date of reception, I could be billed the difference between the actual price and the discounted price, which would be $100.00. Do they really do that? If so, my grandchildren just got 2 new 'toy' phones, because I am not about to pay for these phones.

correction: it says within 30 days, not 2 weeks, but I am still way later than that....by a couple months.

If you haven't yet been billed, I can't see why you'd be billed now. But then again, I don't know yet...

I was afraid I would be billed once I activated them.....which I haven't done yet.

I hesitate to tell you to go ahead and activate it. I'd get customer care on the phone and make sure they approve it and note it in the account specifically.

On second though, as long as you've accepted the new contract, there shouldn't be a problem--Verizon's got their end of the deal if you're on a two-year or whatnot. But probably be a good idea to call customer care.

The phone is a LG vz5300. After reading all the posts in the other thread, I'm wondering whether I should activate it.
Question....if it does do the freezing thing the other posters are talking about, could I just go back to using my old phones?
If so, how would i go about doing that?
BTW, thanks for all the input.
