i just got an unlock Sony Ericsson K750i few days ago, but when i put in my SIM card, i cannot get any reception! i use cingular, but when i put the SIM card to my friend's phone, such as Motorola Razr, they got receptions...
so i was wondering why it is like that, and it turns out my phone is a tri-band phone and Razr is a quad-band phone, but when i called Cingular for customer service, they told me that i could use tri-band phone and still get reception!
i live in Sheffield, MA....Berkshire School...
and i cannot get ANY reception! can someone please tell me what i should do to get reception?
and does anyone know that i have to get a quad-band phone to get reception in Sheffield, MA and Berkshire School?

What does the Model number say under the battery, there are two versions of this phone, one with the 850 band and one with the 900 band. the one with the 900 band may not work in your area.

my phone supports these three band...GSM 900/ 1800/ 1900
but when i go to the network setup, the search mode is in automatic, which means that it will just search the signal by itself, but then i cannot be able to get any signals! so can someone please help me!?
btw, i checked under the battery, i did not find anything...

then where you are right now probably only supports 850 mhz service. they use 1900 in usa but not in all areas.. my n-gage classic has this same problem.. medium small cities rural areas etc sometimes I have no service at all when I put my sim in another phone it works.

If you have the ATT sim and you had service before, then more than likely its the 850 band.

None the less, your're more than likely using the 790a in an 850 band zone. so its not gonna work.
