I have just installed the USB driver and PIM & File Manager 2.0 so that I can upload my photos from my phone (x660) to my computer. However, when I plug in the phone, it says "unknown device" and then when I click on that, "No drivers are installed for this device.
If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter."
Can anyone help to explain why it is not working? I have windows xp, I bought the cable off ebay (which said it was for x660) from a good seller. I would really appreciate your help, this is driving me crazy!
Thanks!
Michelle.

I just noticed, a sticker on the cable says "D500" - so does that mean I was sent the wrong cable, or should it work for mine as well?
Thanks

I've looked it up, and it looks like the d500 cable should work. I've installed and uninstalled the driver 4 times now, but I still have no idea why it wont work. I know it's the right cable, as the phone appears to charge when I have it plugged in. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks

Have checked Samsung's web site and found the following model info for PC Data Link Kit for the mentioned models:
X660 PKT190LSEG/STD
D500 PKT130LBEG/STD
T629 PKT200BBEG/STD
D800 PKT200BSEG/STD
From the above, it seems like X660 and D500 are very different and should be incompatible.
As for T629 and D800, since they are both PKT200B, so there is very high chance that they are compatible.
Hope it helps.

I am not 100% sure but from the model number of the PC Data link kit from Samsung, they are pretty close. You mentioned that the cable comes with a driver and seems like you have problem with it, what is the problem? From your other thread, you have problem with PC Studio to recognize your phone. Have you setup PC Studio to use the same port as assigned for the cable?

Probably my knowledge is not up to date. T629 uses PC Studio 3.1 which is quite new to me. After searching the internet, I found a few links which may be helpful to you, see below.
