It looks like the AT&T/Cingular merger (takeover, by AT&T?) was announced yesterday. I am wondering if anyone who is a CSR or employee in the know would be willing to answer questions (my own and perhaps others who have questions).
Do you know anything about the transition plan for Cingular customers? After reading so many stories about AT&T users having to move to Cingular accounts - and the troubles that went with that - I am mildly anxious about this. And with regards to services & plans, has there been talk of any changes or is the status quo going to be maintained, but under the new name?
I'm simply curious about what things may look like in the coming year as Cingular becomes AT&T.

Well, your bill will change colors, other than that, since its more of a name change than anything else, everything is going to stay relatively the same, the service isn't changing like it did whe ATT Wireless and Cingular Wireless merged.

Its safe to assume yes, it will probably be in the next couple months. I on the other hand am on the Malibu network, at least that's what my phone says

Probably call it an ATT Go phone, I believe the sim cards are going to change look too.

No, they'll stay the same, it won't be like the merger, nothing on you bill will change, the technology stays the same, the simcards are going to essensially get a new paint job, they'll still work in older cingular locked phones.
