Did Verizon take away the ability to turn off EVDO, or is there another process now?
PLEASE help- Thanks! |
Same problem here; only I got the phone back in December. Had problems with reception so I took it in for service. Tech just upgraded the software, still having reception problems but now cannot access service menu. Anyone know new access code?

##77627268600
then 000000
This will bring into test mode same as what the previous method did. My daughter had a phone go bad and the replacement required this new code and must be a latter rev.
Turning off EVDO does save battery life and only required for web browsing.
After you change the settings the phone will reboot so no exit code required.

Hi- thanks for the code! I'm still having problems, though-
In the "old" instructions, you would hit menu, then 000000. I tried using this code you provided the same way, but that didn't do anything until the '2' which then opened my contacts. I also tried typing it in the phone like a telephone number and waiting, but that does nothing as well. Are there more steps you can provide that will help me access test mode?
Thanks again,
Katie

Hi Katie,
Don't hit the menu key first. Just enter the code I gave you and then lmk what happens. If you still have a problem we'll get my daughter in on this.

Just talked to my daughter and we missed a step.
after the ## code hit send and then the zeros.
So ##77627268600 send
000000
Then choose network select
Change mode to the type you want and sorry to be vague on this last part but I don't have the phone in front of me.

Hi again. First of all, thank you so much for all your help on this! I really appreciate your time and effort in trying to figure out this process.
Unfortunately it still does not work.
When I enter ##77627268600 and press send, the phone rings. I tried entering the zeros right away, but it doesn't matter- I hear a "Welcome to Verizon Wireless, your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and try again."
If there's anything else you can think of to help, I'd still really appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Katie
