Can convert quite every video format.
If you wanne keep quality high you convert it to a DiVX-video and install the free DiVX player by DiVX
http://mobile.divx.com (can't be displayed be the IE)

Scroll down...
And if you already have a DiVX player installed, than you won't need this player.

Yes, should be no problem.
I guess it's the .dat-file from a (S)VCD - which is mpeg2 - so I don't see any problem.

Your right, it's a dat file from a VCD, actually it's a photo story of an event. So you mean to say i can play it on the divx player of my phone without converting it?
Another thing, the demo files that come with the divx player when i installed it are AVI files. But when i transferred another AVI file from a friend's phone to mine, i can't play it. The phone says unknown file format or file format not supported. I'm sure they are both AVI files.
