Is stolen Cingular phone trackable?

so i have a question....if a cingular phone is stolen in the United States will they be able to track it for me?....cuz i asked and they only prompted me to purchase a new one cuz they said they couldnt do anything about it?
can anyone help me?

Nope, you can report it lost or stolen, but other than that they can't track it.

so could i just cancel the sim? or plan?....but will the thief still be able to use my phone? icon_mad.gif

when the phone is reported stolen... the sim is suspended (in case the customer retrieves the device)... when the customer calls back to activate the replacement phone and sim the original sim (that was in the device that was lost) is disabled and that sim serial number can NEVER be used again... but the device will work with a different sim,....

afaik the UK is the only country that tracks IMEI's (the phone serial number)

nope but I believe you can have your IMEI blocked so the phone can't be used. If the imei is on file or you know it
