My friend has V557 and he has this news ticker that gives a news, sports, and entertainment headline. It kind of updates in real time, and you can click on the headline to read more. He says the headline service is free, but has to pay to read the articles. He also said his wife's RAZR doesn't have the feature.
Does anyone know if this will work on a RAZR and how do you set it up?

Don't know if that'll work on a RAZR but you can get practically the same thing (sports, headlines, weather, flights, etc.) texted to you on any phone if you sign up for the alerts at 4info.net. No articles, but the headline usually gives you the gist, plus it's free.

Sounds like Screen 3 like on the RIZR, but could be a java app.

I happened to stumble upon this while looking for something else on Cingular's site:
| Quote: | What is MEdia Net Live Ticker?
MEdia Net Live Ticker is only available on the Motorola v557, but will soon be available on other phones. It is a preinstalled application that scrolls pictures and headlines across the bottom of your phone's idle screen, right on top of your wallpaper.
How much does MEdia Net Live Ticker cost?
There is no charge to watch MEdia Net Live Ticker's headlines and pictures scroll across the bottom of your phone's idle screen. You can even click "More" to read the entire headline, free of charge. If you click again, and visit the news item's web page, you are using the wireless Internet and standard data charges apply. |
