I was thinking of buying a T-Mobile Sidekick II on EBay and just buy a SIM card or activation kit or whatever it is to set the sidekick up for the $1 a-day plan. My concern is that a few people have told me that you can't do this with a phone from EBay and that you have to buy you r Sidekick at the T-Mobile store in order to set it up with the $1 a-day plan. Does anyone know if buying the phone off EBay and going into the store to activate it for the $1 a-day plan will work? and if not, is there anyway at all that I could get the Sidekick II off EBay and sort of cheat-the-system and activate it on the $1 a-day plan? I really don't want to spend $250 on a Sidekick but would really like one. PLEASE HELP

as long as you get a t-mobile to go sim and have a sidekick it should work fine.

Not true man
you can buy one on ebay and still connect it with a 1 dollar a day plan for prepaid i do it all day for customers im a T-mobile rep

I just bought a SK3 on Ebay, & hopped down to my local T-Mobile store
where they gave me the bad news that I would have to pay $100.
for the activation kit. I want To Go Prepaid, with Web service.
I have a sim card, but no act.code. Is there a cheaper way around
this, maybe on Ebay?

Were you at a tmobile corp. store or an authorized dealer? Last time I checked it was $35 for an activation kit.

It will work on a phone from ebay becusei did something similar when i got my sk3. also let me save you a little bit of money. instead of purchasing a sim card or activation kit, go to a t mobile store or kiosk that does t mobile and get one of those free phones. just tell them when they activate it to put it on the sidekick plan ($1/ day) so that way once your sidekick comes in the mail, all you have to do is take your sim card out of the free phone and put it in your sidekick. then u can sell or do whatever you want with the free phone.
by the way im selling my sk 3 on ebay not really looking for alot of money. if your interested or know someone that is you should check it out. my seller ID is babyphatt18fva. Good luck to you

I got it from a friend.
i really want it.
but i have metro pcs.
and they dont have sims.
will the code work?

NO SIDEKICK WILL WORK WITH A SIM THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO TMOBILE. NO HIPTOP WILL WORK WITHOUT A SIM FROM THE NETWORK THE HITOP WAS DESIGNED FOR. Sorry for yelling, but I wanted to answer that for the next million ppl that wil ask that question in this thread.
