hey everybody, My 73 year old grandmother has a Samsung SCH-A650 phone, and is overdue for her "New every two" uograde, and she wants a new phone, that is just "basic" that operates LIKE A PHONE. The only option that she wants, is a camera phone, b/c she does like to take pictures with her friends when they go out to eat or something like that. Her and I were looking on VZWs website, and she really likes the new Samsung U340, becaue its small and stylish, and she likes the color, but b/c its so new, I cant find any reviews on it, so any feedback would be appriciated.

With the NE2, and with her being 73, I'd say the V325I. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles but it does have a good camera and a good reputation and battery life. I've not heard anything good nor bad about the u340, so I can't recommend it.

isnt the V325i made by motorola, b/c if it is, then I might be a bit iffy, I've had 4 motos b4, and they've all had something wrong with them, I have had excellent experirence with Sams and LGs.

Yeah the 325i is a Motorola. I've heard that before about people with negative histories with Motorola, but the 325i is universally loved.

the u340 and a870 are basically identical phones, not a whole lot of difference between them.they are a good all around phone, the 325's are great phones for reception, but the camera is not even a whole megapixel, it's a vga camera which means that pics on it will look like crap.I would recommend the u340, your getting a 1.3 MP.it just came out though, so you will have trouble finding alot of feedback on it quite yet.

the U340 doesnt have a 1.3MP camera, on VZWs website it said a VGA camera which basically means ~640x480, im might me mistaken though
