my friend has a nokia 6100.. and i have a 7250i.... and whenever we try to connect to each other.. through IR... the lil IR icon just keeps blinking away.. it never recongnizes each other... however... when i use my IRda to connect to the computer... it works.. so i dun think theres anything wrong with my IR port... but.. could there be something wrong with my friend's?... or is 6100 and 7250i just not compatible?...

It is not the matter of compatibility, even if you manage to connect two phones by IR, there's no use of that connection. By default and for now, Nokia phones are not supposed to connect to each other through IR.....

As far as I know you can not, the transfer via IR is possible only between two 7250i....

Support Nokia said that at the current state, no phones (including the 6610, 7210, 7250 and 7250i) can transfer polyphonic ringtones, wallpapers or logos through infrared to another phone.

They quoted that they will design phones with this feature in the near future.

Well, better hold on to your seats boys! (and girls if you're out there, icon_smile.gif )

Nokia Sales Guide says that 7250i supports "wireless image sending and receiving over IR with compatible devices"....I wasn't able to try this feature because I'm always one 7250i short, but what is more compatible to one 7250i than another 7250i? Damn, now I'm confused....

"compatible devices" in this case are InfraRed devices on you computer.
"sending and receiving" only means up- and downloading it to/from your phone.

If you choose your words wise, you can sell everything icon_wink.gif

You are right again....So, there's no additional functionality compared to one provided by PC Suite....The way they put it, it sounds like you can initiate the transfer of data from the phone and not necessarily from the computer, but I think that can hardly be the case....Correct me if I'm wrong....
