Thats way tooo much for a 2 year contract and the iPhone! If the price for thhe iPhone is 600 with no contract im ok but im planning to bail if Cingular doesn't start or upgrade for a 2 year contract.

Then don't get the phone - you don't HAVE to get it. If you do get it and don't get a new contract, the no commit price is expected to be much higher.

If I comprehend these ramblings, you don't want to spend the money it will require to get the I-Phone. Well, Hombre, it's pretty much like this. The I-Phone is made my Apple, meaning it's gonna cost major bucks. Second, it's exclusive to Cingular/ATT&T/whatever/. If you don't get it from them, you ain't gonna get it. $600 is the contract price. And how 'bout deciphering that last sentence for us?

I think the price is simple to comprehend.
Apple's iPhone = new device technology = very expensive.

Nothing is new on it really, except the visual voicemail and I hear the predictive text is pretty sweet too

Yeah, it's nothing really new. With OS X, it somewhat resembles a more beefed up UIQ OS. But with just the name "iPhone", the craze that some people have over Apple products, and that it's a new device makes it expensive. Just like when the Nokia N80 first launched, the price was really high.

I once, during a sale, said that people would buy a road cone if it was named Icone and had an apple logo on it, its almost true.

anytime something new comes out, its always more expensive. Take for example a regular CDMA cell phone the LG VX8300 back in May i beleive. the only thing it had differnet was a flash based menu system, and it cost $159.99 with two year contract, last week, I walked by a VZW store, and the same phone was $29.99 with contract.
New Technology+Cool Factor+Gotta have it+marketing= very expensive and limited supply
