I am ready for an upgrade and I am sticking with Cingular, since that is what everyone else I talk to has.
I have a SonyEricson Z520a, so anything will be an upgrade almost.
I hate that phone.anyways.
I am debating and researching on the following phones.
Samsung Sync
Motorola Razr v3xx
LG CU500
Right now, they are all the same price on the Cingular site.
I am not picking on options, I'm just a single mom who works an hour away and needs a cell phone for normal purposes.
I like something sleek so I can have it in my pocket at all times.
I do text message a lot, I find it easier than calling someone for some random reason.
I have read through the forums, but am still debating.
Any help or opinions would be great, Thanks!

As much as I love motorola, I'd say the sync is the best way to go esp if you text, as the numbers are more clearly defined then on the RAZR line

I third the v3xx. I just got one on Thursday, and I love it. I usually experience problems with any phone I get and this one has yet to mess up. I am really picky when it comes to phones as well and this one lives up to my expectations.

I'm having similar problems in chosing between the three.all three can use Yahoo to Go 2.0 out of the box. I wish my old Siemens S66 had not got buggy on me the was a great little piece.
The phone Cingular exchanged for the S66 was Samsung d807 which is ok but no Siemens. One thing I hate with Sync is using IM and not being able to type regular letters (no pre-text or T9) whats up with that. I would consider the motorola but I here the call logs only store 10 called/missed/rec'd calls that a non-starter for me.
Because I use yahoo mail with 'yahoo to go' I will get to sync my contacts in real-time.goodbye typing.another thing I didn't like with the D807 is he fact I can't change the incoming email alert tone.
So, can I IM with the Sync using regular letters and not T9, infact how do you type someone's name using T9?

Wrong about the 10 dialed/received/missed calls where the V3xx is concerned. I think it's more than 60 such calls, I've quit checking. Actually, I just looked at mine, I think it's 60 dialed calls and 120 missed and/or received calls. Plenty for me. Wait, I just looked again. It's 60 dialed calls and 120 calls of all types. I actually think I've found the ultimate phone for me in the V3xx. It has just enough smartphone features without being too much sugar for a dime like a real smartphone (e-mail, internet, calender, etc.) and works better and faster than all of the other Razrs I've had. And it doesn't get squirrely if I don't re-boot it every other day (so far it's been almost 3 weeks with no re-boot). I've not checked out the Cingular TV and Cingular Music features yet. I may not, that's not why I bought the phone in the first place.

I'd go with the SYNC. I'm not just saying that because I have one, I'm saying that because I have tried every phone and the SYNC is the best, in my opinion. The CU500 doesn't compare with SYNC and V3xx, but the V3xx has a smaller list of features compared to the SYNC. But, on the pricing standpoint, the V3xx is cheaper than both the SYNC and CU500, but if price isn't a problem, then go with the SYNC.

I got the V3xx. Great phone. I wish it wasn't a RAZR, but it works great. I got the TV and radio on a trial basis. Works really well. Just be sure to bring the battery charger with you. TV SUCKS up juice. I got rid of the TV subscription because it's so expensive. I tried it merely to satisfy my curiosity. If you're made of money and don't mind paying $80 a month to watch TV on your phone go for it.
Anyways the phone really works great. I got the bluetooth headset and really enjoy it.
The only problem I'm having is I can't figure out how to transfer my calendar from my old SLVR to the new V3xx. Reckon I'll just have to do it by hand.
Overall, Cingular is offering the V3xx for $50. It's one HELL of a phone for that price. Check into it.
