When a phone has a "mini" usb does this mean you can't connect it to the computer usb port? I am investigating the Motorola V3zz and it says it has a mini USB port. Will I need some sort of adapter to connect it to my computer or if I buy the data cable for it from ebay will that work? Thanks

What are you looking to do with it?

The data cable will work fine

But the V3xx is a p2k05 phone rather than std p2k and modding programs are still to catch up

Mikekay is right, however P2K05 can now be easily modded, the newest version of P2KCommander can read/write seems and files

Yeah - and thats a great program. But its far from the range of mods that can be done to a normal p2k phone.

I would still say if you are looking to buy a p2k05 phone may sure it will do *exactly* what you want before you buy or be prepared to wait a few months

Thank you. I only want to hook it up to my computer and transfer contacts and ringtones. What software program will do that please?
Thanks

If that's all you're looking to do, I've been using Mobile Phone Tools just fine with my new V3xx. I installed the latest updates to MPT and it hooked right up to the phone, no problems.
