With all the money I spend on Cingular's Services for mine and my son's phones I do expect competent Customer Service and most of all, have a rightful expectation NOT TO BE LIED TO! I have never lied to one of mine nor would I would work for a company that advocates dishonesty. For you to get on here and insult me as you have shows your true character and that you apparently defend and stand up for incompetence and untruthfulness. |
I know what you're saying, but you weren't lied to, thats the policy, if you didn't get it back there was a missunderstanding somewhere along the line, tell CS your exact situation and they'll transfer you to someone that can look into it.

Just to let the forum know I did finally receive my deposits last Sat. but not after A LOT of frustration and lying. I know that is a strong word but I can think of no other. One CSR told me that 2 $500 checks were mailed to me on the 9th. I asked if she was positive about that and she said yes. If everything I was told in the numerous contacts I had with them then the post mark on the check would not have said the 21st of Feb but on the 9th as I was told. It does not take that long to get from El Paso to OKC. And the weather has been pretty nice between here and there.

Hi everybody!
I'd like to add my story to this post, because it adds another flavor to this security deposit-thing.
First, I had to pay 500 *per line* for a 2-line 24 months contract (= 1000 USD), because I recently moved from Europe and consequently did not have any US credit history. They then said it will be refunded after 12 months of contract (no mention of consecutive payments, whatsoever).
Now, I get a check for 1*500 (Deposit refund) + 259 (Overpayment Refund) USD. Not the 1000 that I anticipated.
I call the store, from their DBase they confirm that I indeed deposited 1000. Regarding refund, they tell me to call customer service, do not know of any "Receivables Management". Asked for any deposit number or reference, they say "Customer Service" sees the same info they see and there will be no problem.
Callig the customer service, it takes them 15min to pull up the info regarding the deposit. They only see a deposit of 500 USD and no idea where to go from there. I ask to be referred to "Receivables Management" and they tell me to call 800-947 50 96, which puts me on hold for another 20min.
The guy I talk to is competent and friendly and confirms that I actually paid a deposit of 1000. I also received two checks of 500, *BUT*, as there was a balance on my account on the date the check was issued, this was discounted from the refunded amount!
1. Interesting that this did not show up anywhere and on the webportal my balance still showed a due of 241.
2. Even more interesting that they seem to be running completely different DBases.
However, thanks a lot for the previous posts. You guys saved me *hell*!
All the best,
J.[/b]
