Yes, I did the tutorial and loaded everything. It loaded about 5 drivers and it appears to read the phone just fine.
Opened p2k and backed up the phone.

Is there any error other than fail?
Start the phone in bootloader manually (hold * and # while powering phone on) and see if RSD Lite recognises the phone

I shut everything down, rebooted my pc and went back and reinstalled the drivers using the "clear and reinstall" option, and it is now working.
When all else fails, reboot, right?
Very cool.
Thanks for all the help, and having patience with the noob.
I've still got a lot to read/learn, but this is good start.
