A friend of mine gave me a Nextel i860, but it says Subsidy Lock on the screen and asks for a code. How do I get that code to turn the phone on?

Leave it displaying this message until it asks for a code to be entered, then power cycle the phone

That doesnt do anything. It still asks for a special code.

Hi I just purchased a motorola v177 phone for my mom since her old one was stolen. However it says i need a subsidy code. From reading the posts i gather there are different ways to unlock a phone, but i havent seen any posts regarding the v177. I have the IMEI number, but no data cable. Please tell me you can help me. It is very urgent!

You'll need the cable to do it yourself, if not you can always take it to someone who has a smart clip, ask around your local mall, the guys that work at Cingular and Tmobile usually know who can do it close by.
