Am I the only user who cannot see the cell phones' LCD screens outside? It seems that nobody else has addresses this issue. I've tried shading the LCD screen in various ways but to no avail. I have put the brightness to the max but to no avail. I must be the only user having problems as I always see folks using their laptops out in the park and taking photos with their cells. Indoors, there are no ptoblems. How do users center their photos in bright sunlight and make calls? Any advice?

I actually have 3 different phones, all Motorola; even the Rzr V3 is hard to see outdoors. It's impossible to frame photos in bright sunlight. There must be a trick. I've tried various shading methods but to no avail. It makes sense really: How could a tiny light behind the screen compete with the sunlight?

It can't.
It's a major problem with newer phones. Older black/green screens were much better in the sunlight.

Thanks. The cell phone manufacturers deny there is such a problem seeing the screen outdoors; they say I'm the only complainer. Yes, those older phones had brighter readouts. Oftentimes, older is better (ex: Music)

Many phones are coming out w/ what is called a "Light Sensing Screen" which automatically adjusts the screen lighting levels for indoor and outdoor viewing.
The Newer RIM (Blackberry) Devices are equipped w/ this option. I have been using the Pearl for a month now and it's as small as all the other phones, gets great reception (which is rare for a PDA).I love it.
