If I purchased the Cingular 8525, would I be able to use unlimited MEdia Net as my internet, or would I have to sign up for the unlimited data connect?

the 8525 would require a pda plan, medianet is for regular wap-only enabled phones.

I have a new Cingular 8525, which I took to Mexico last month. I made several calls trying to access my voice mail, which Cingular had neglected to activate when I switched phones. I also accessed e mail, having purchased a plan which allowed me 10 MB. I just got a bill for $600, a shock to say the least. I called Cingular and was told that my plan does not cover international e mail, the 8525 does not have the same capabilities as a Blackberry with the much lower charge for international use. If I had known that, I would have bought a Blackberry, which I really do not like as much. My husband has one and has T Mobile service and he pays $18 per month for his e mail access, no matter where he is.
I pay $24. 99 for the 10 MB. It only covers e mail in the US. I will use my husband's Blackberry when we are out of the country.
I am soured on Cingular service and locked into a 2 year contract. an expensive lesson.

no carrier gives international email cheap. plans are only covered for the carrier's respective network in the US. it's not brain surgery.
