Just found this forum, and wanted to post a question, when you transferred music on to your nokia, are you able to listen to this music with a bluetooth handset, or is this not possible and you have to end up buying a hs-23 headset for this purpose?

You need a normal headset which connects via cable, which is irrelevant.

Yes you CAN listen to mp3 via bluetooth. The only thing you CANT listen is the FM radio which requires a handset. Most people dont know this but in the music player, goto options and select, play music via bluetooth.

You call crappy mono sound with one bluetooth headset "listen"?
The 6275i doesn't support A2DP which is needed for stereo sound via bluetooth with a real stereo bluetooth headset.
Maybe (a big maybe) A2DP might be integrated into an future firmware for the phone.
And if you're really listening to music via a normal bluetooth headset you're nuts.

A2DP is supported on the Nokia 5300.
You cannot listen to FM radio as the headset wire is used as the FM antenna.

I'd like a 'show of hands' from people who like the idea of having a phone they can listen to music on.
All the marketing of these lifestyle devices put this right out there - the latest coolest thing. Ok, this sounds great to me, where do I sign up, what is popular etc
So I end up with a 6275i from Telecom, NZ. This is a 'top of the range' phone at $600 full price, I get it for considerably less on my plan, which means being tied in for 24 months.
Ok, so, what's next? Accessories! the after sales market! step up every man and their dog with accessories!
2G card - check!
USB Cable - check!
BlueTooth USB dongle - check
there goes $150 thereablouts.
Now, I can get music onto my phone despite Nokia's crappy software, and I can play it through the (remarkably clear but tinny) built-in speaker. But who'd be a twat doing that as they walk down the street?!
Now I need headphones!
What does that mean? 2.5mm plug? oh! no-one makes them yet? What is a pop port?
Oh man, am I stuck with a bleeding edge phone? Starts to seem like it.
I run a few searches for NZ retailers or websites. Dick Smith, Expansys, Phonestuff, Vodaphone, Telecom. Ok, so over the next week I'll visit the mall and check out what they've got.
Well, for a start no-one's got anything in stock, if they have they can't open it, they know NOTHING about the phone. Generally very unimpressive. This doesn't marry up with the slick, cool, hip dude I see grooving down the footpath with his cool headset on. What is the problem here?
Wow! a mate is in the states for two weeks! Nothing in NZ is suitable or very interesting (mono-hands free, crappy buds) so I buy a pair of the latest Nokia HS-81 stereo headsets with Sennheiser eair pieces! these should be very cool. These are 2.5mm 4-pole so compatible with new phones using this format - these are supposed to support stereo playback and act as radio antenna.
The 6275i isn't (currently) mentioned in ANY of Nokia NZ's compatibility lists - however, just to make sure, I note that the 2.5mm format is based around a 'standard' - the phone mentiones is, the headset says it. What can go wrong?!
They arrive! (oh! and I'm glad to see you're back, friend! now, where are my headphones! sorry about that)
I plug them in! drumroll.I fumble for the music player and crank up a tune. oh no! mono playback in my right ear only.
So I fiddle, and wiggle, at best I can get mono in both ears. So the headphones aren't faulty (I'll test them with a suitable adapter).
Man! am I pissed by this stage. I already have a nice wee mp3 player, why did I bother?
Anyone got any gems of wisdom for me?
I've got the cell phone no. (given to me by a very disinterested sales rep at the store I bought the phone from) of the Nokia NZ sales manager or something similar. I'll let you know how I get on.

I've got a Nokia 6275i and I'm trying to figure out how to get a stereo handsfree headset up and running.
I bought a HS-5 headset for it, stupidly not even noticing that it wasn't stereo.
I'm thinking the HS-23 headset might be the way to go, has anyone got that or the HS-81 working properly (stereo!) with a Nokia 6275i?

Pete66, did you read my post just above? HS-81 is mono -only on this phone. I can't find any decent information anywhere, Nokia don't list it on their site(s) or in the manual as far as I can tell. None of the sales reps I've spoken to in NZ know which end or their body their arses are attached to let alone why you'd want accessories for your phone - one even tried to plug in a 3.5mm headset and didn't know anything about the new 2.5mm standard.
pretty unimpressive. I recommend you get an audio adaptor AD-46 - this will give you the entire 3.5mm stereo headset range.
good luck.
