last december of 2006 my dad cancelled the family plan of 5phone and retained a single phone with an individual plan. Now, his problem started when he got his first bill totalling to the amount of $800. according to my dad when he made the call to make changes in his tmobile account he specifically told the tmobile rep to include the $6.99 which is the unlimited tmobile-to-tmobile but amazingly the change did not happen. could someone tell me what would be the best thing to do to prevent my dad from paying the costly error the tmobile rep had done.

thank you.

i looked at the notes and did not find the unlimited m2m. this has been bothering my dad for couple of days now and still couldnt find a fair solution to this matter. to be fair with Tmobile, after we emailed them our complaint, less than 48 hrs we received an email offering a half of the overage charges and immediately my dad did not accept the offer for he felt it was unfair. he did not make any error except during the phone conversation with the Tmobile rep where my dad thought having an individual plan covers him with the unlimited m2m but that was immediately corrected from the start with the help of the same person who made the costly error, that Tmobile rep told my dad to get the $6.99 for him to enjoy the benifit of calling Tmobile subcribers anytime he wants and my dad allowed him to include the additional service of $6.99. at this time they want us to pay the full amount of $800. this is our unfortunate situation that frustrates my family and specially my dad. im hoping for a conducive advice. thanx

T-Mobile will not credit the full amount without your dad providing them with some sort of proof.

T-Mobile has made the offer to credit half the charges. thats probley the best your gonna get.

I hate to tell you this but ur dad got screwed. cell phone companies will do that to get money but i can offer you this little peice of advice

1. make sure you dad has proof that he had m2m on the phone before the changes were made (makes a good argument in court)

2. talk to a supervisor and calmly to explain this error because theres not much a cust. rep. can do

3. if the supervisor wont correct the issue, threaten to take them to court. how does this help? because a big company like t mobile is going to have a lawyer rep. them in court and it would probably be cheaper for them to just dismiss the $800 charges then to pay a lawyer to rep. them in a suit

hopefully the imformation i gave you will be of some help and good luck

T-Moble has a poliy that once a customer threatens legal actions then all Rep and supervisors can do is give the customer the Legal Teams Mailing Adress and advise them to mail a letter.

also if his dad is currently under contract then he agreed to the mandatory arbitration.

also wireless companies do not do this all the time. our reps are humans they make mistakes. but with out proof of it we cannot credit the full amount.

tell your dad to mail the T-Mobile Customer Relations u can find their adress at www.T-Mobile.com.

with this kind of matter rep's dont do much, it's better to get the sup right away. i've been getting a lot of advice from you guyz here in the forum to provide any proof but this is impossible for the only proof i can think of is the recorded conversation from Tmobile's system and its' not available for my dad or any Tmobile customer. currently, we are making steps and considering some options to finally conclude this dilemma. im just so grateful to have all of your significant ideas readily available here and im hoping you wont stop from giving me more insights. God bless. . .
